They love politics, as advanced races usually do, and they’re no strangers to meddling in the affairs of others. They’re an arrogant, advanced race, with great military and a deep understanding of magic. The trailer then goes on to talk about the high elves. Every race is going to have to perform some sort of ritual in order to have their way, and that’s what the campaign is all about. For those keeping track of the Malekith voice situation – he sounds more like the original trailer in these campaign segments.There’s a struggle between those who’d like to use the vortex for their own advancement, and those who’d prefer to see it contained.
Apparently that battle will be shown tomorrow, so expect another video. This footage ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, ahead of Malekith’s assault on a Ulthuan settlement.
In a more UI-related change, you can now customise and determine exactly what is shown of AI moves during the End Turn sequence. It’s possible to spend gold to produce ‘intervention’ armies an AI force that will spawn near opponents conducting Vortex rituals and attempt to disrupt them. The video also shows a few more features coming to Total War: Warhammer 2. You also need to use slaves to conduct Rites that can provide battle buffs or produce more Black Arks. More slaves means more generated wealth, but also an increased risk of rebellion.
As you’d perhaps expect of the Dark Elves, they have a slave-based economy. Malekith (and Morathi’s) lads are able to use Black Arks as mobile reinforcement stations, and as bombardment support during land battles. It’s twelve minutes of campaign activities, showing some of the unique Dark Elf mechanics. After yesterday’s general tour of the Total War: Warhammer 2 campaign map, Creative Assembly have now released some Dark Elf gameplay.
